Ernie White passed away on August 4th, 2026, at the age of 88. Ernie played his college football at the University of Dayton. After playing rugby for the London Lords of the Ontario Rugby Football Union, he was recruited by the Hamilton Tiger Cats in 1960. He was a running back who played six seasons in the Canadian Football League for three teams including the Hamilton Tiger Cats, the Ottawa Rough Riders (1961-1963), and the Montreal Alouettes where he served as a versatile running back and return specialist. Known for his speed, determination, and agility, he earned Eastern Conference All-Star honours in 1962. Please see the announcement at the link below.
