Reports that Ottawa Rough Riders fullback, Bo Scott, will play out his option year this season was branded “premature” by Riders General Manager Red O’Quinn. Scott played out his three-year contract with the Riders last season, but he hasn’t signed a new contract. His main concern is finding suitable off-season employment in Ottawa. He will have to consider playing out the option and moving elsewhere. O’Quinn has heard that Scott is now connected with Vic Tannys.

Ottawa Rough Riders Head Coach, George Brancato, got the word to Charlie Brandon, the seven-year veteran of the club, that he was not being invited to training camp. Brandon had missed most of last season with a spinal cord problem. He worked long and hard over the off-season trying to recover. The recurring neck injury ultimately sealed his fate. Brancato said, “It was too much of a risk, for us and him. We’ve been thinking about it for some time. We talked to Charlie and he kept wanting to come back. Finally, we talked to our medical people and they advised us not to take a chance on him.”
